curriculum
The curriculum is entirely based on the teachings of Dr. Montessori. The subjects included are
- Exercises of practical life
- Sensorial exercises
- Language
- Mathematics
- Geography
- Cultural activities
Art, music, cooking, gardening, field trips, and service to the community are also an essential part of the curriculum.
Exercises of practical life which are activities that are daily performed in the child's home environment which includes care of one's self, care of the environment, and care for others including grace and courtesy.
Sensorial exercises are activities which help children develop the five senses with the manipulation of scientifically designed Montessori materials.
Language is a learning process of three stages developed by Dr. Edouard Seguin. "It involves relating a fact or concept to an object." - Paula Polk Lillard. Language is presented at its best by the use of the nation's mother tongue and we recognize language as an art that delivers a delightful child.
Mathematics - The understanding of quantity enables the child to carry out the operations in arithmetic. A simple presentation and the opportunity to work independently with manipulative materials invite the child to master the understanding of mathematical abstractions.
